What is the structure that Deskista uses?
Deskista uses an intuitive structure to model your offices. First you create an Office, then you create Locations within the Office, then you create resources within the location. There are two different types of Location: Floor and Car Parks and there are two different types of Resource: Desk and Parking Space.
How do I set up an office?
Once logged in as Admin click Manage Offices and then click New. You will need the name of the office which must be unique to the others.
How do I set up a new location?
Once logged in as Admin click Manage Locations and then click New. Select the Office you would like to create the Location in then choose between either creating a Floor or a Car Park. After saving you can upload a floor plan by selecting the Floor Plan tab.
How do I add a desk to a location?
Once logged in as Admin click Manage Resources and then click New. Select the Location you would like to add the desk to then select Desk as the Resource Type. Finally, give the desk a unique name (for the Floor) and click Save.
I need extra features for Desks, how do I add them?
Once logged in as Admin click Manage Features and then click New. Select the Resource Type you would like to assign the new feature to and then give the new feature a unique name then and click Save.
I've just added a new feature, how do I assign it to a desk?
Once logged in as Admin click Manage Features and then select the Desk you would like to add the Feature to. Select the Add/Remove Features tab and then click the check mark next to the Feature you are adding. Deskista automatically saves as you select features, there is no need to click Save.
Does Deskista support Parking Spaces?
Yes Deskista supports parking spaces. To create a parking space you first need to create a Car Park. Car Parks can be created in the same way you create Floors but by selecting Car Park as the Location Type. Spaces can then be added under Manage Resources and selecting Parking Space as the Resource Type.
Is it possible to book a Parking Space without first booking a desk?
Yes, however, this is a Tenant wide setting and is not the default. To allow booking a Parking Space, log in as Admin and navigate to Global Settings by selecting Deskista Admin and selecting the Global Admin tab. Once in the Global Admin tab select "Allow Parking Space without Desk Booking" and then click Save.
Can my users be notified of their booking?
Yes, this can be enabled under their account by selecting "Send me daily emails of my booked resources".
Does Deskista support Single Sign On (SSO) and SCIM?
Yes. Deskista supports SSO and SCIM for Microsoft Entra tenants. If you would like support for other identity providers such as Google Workspaces please contact us at sales@deskista.co.uk as we would develop this feature with you.
Does Deskista support different languages?
Deskista currently only supports English however it has been engineered to support other languages. If you would like a language added please contact us at support@deskista.co.uk and we will add it.
Does Deskista support meeting rooms?
Deskista does not currently support meeting rooms however integration with Exchange Online/Outlook is on the roadmap.
